If we think about Satou, she always hid the bad parts away from Shio.

Was this Satou's intent all along? I highly doubt it. Shio looks unhinged and crazy, and we realize that Shio is becoming Satou. On Shio's hospital room, we find out Shio is still as obsessed with Satou as she once was. However, things don't go exactly as planned. Instead of letting Shio die with her and be with her forever, Satou cushions Shio's fall and dies in her place. Even if she has to twist the hearts of others to get her way.īut Satou does the exact opposite of what we think. We'd never expect Satou to fall off her pedestal, especially since everything has fallen into place for her since the beginning. Or, come up with some crazy scheme to get out of her situation. Satou, when confronted with things she doesn't like, comments about how she is not "on their level." With knowing this information, Satou should take Shio in death. What Satou does is screwed up, but she always seems to think she's on the moral high ground. Whether it be threatening her minor-assaulting homeroom teacher and forcing him to get rid of murder evidence, or manipulating Taiyou by using Shio as bait for his pedophilic desires. Satou seems like someone who will never fall and is able to turn any situation into one beneficial to her in some way. (CoughYuno)Įverything that leads up to this moment is a perfect plan. You'd think Satou would willingly take that offer right? Any other yandere character would totally be okay with that. After all of this, Shio decides that the only way she and Satou can be together is to die together. She groomed and manipulated Shio into thinking that she was the only thing that mattered in life and the only thing that would keep her safe. She was selfish and always wanted for Shio to love her and only her. Satou throughout the entire anime was so desperate to keep Shio to herself that she would manipulate, hurt, or murder anyone who threatened her life with Shio. No, Satou did not get legitimate justice by law, or revenge by Asahi, but she got redemption. I'd have to heavily disagree with this view of the ending.
